Welcome to PanzerParadies.de! I am a passionate turtle keeper and currently run this site alone, hoping to find like-minded enthusiasts to join me. My goal is to build a comprehensive platform for turtle lovers, where reliable knowledge on the care, keeping, and protection of these fascinating animals is gathered.

My Vision

Turtles are unique creatures with special needs. PanzerParadies.de is intended to be a trustworthy source for anyone deeply interested in the proper care and protection of these animals. I want to create a transparent and open platform where everyone can expand their knowledge and learn about all aspects of turtle keeping.

Why PanzerParadies.de?

There are already other turtle and animal forums, but I believe many of these platforms are not secure in terms of privacy and the quality of exchanges. This is one of the reasons why, with my IT background, I decided to create my own portal. I want to offer a platform where turtle keepers can interact in a safe environment without ads or other distractions.

My Motivation and the Problem with Social Media

Another reason I started PanzerParadies.de is a problem I often see on social media: knowledge is often locked away in closed groups and cannot be found through normal search engines. These isolated sources of information are inaccessible to many turtle keepers, and valuable tips remain hidden in small circles. With PanzerParadies.de, I aim to counteract this by creating an open, searchable knowledge platform accessible to everyone.

My Personal Journey as a Turtle Keeper

I am a dedicated keeper of chaco tortoises. In the past, I also kept red-eared sliders and Greek tortoises, which I unfortunately had to give up when I moved to the capital. However, my passion for turtles never really faded, and during the pandemic year, the desire to keep turtles as pets again grew.

After half a year of intense research and consideration, I kept coming back to the chaco tortoise. This species fascinated me more and more, as I became convinced it is one of the few turtle species that can be properly kept indoors. Their unique lifestyle and adaptability make them, in my view, the ideal choice for responsible indoor keeping.

I Don't Know Everything

I want to emphasize that I certainly don’t know everything about turtles – no one can claim that. My experience is limited to the three species I’ve personally kept. For other species or topics, I need the help of other keepers and experts. That’s why I’m looking for people to join and share their knowledge on this platform. Together, we can make PanzerParadies.de an even more valuable resource for turtle enthusiasts.
