Dieffenbachia, also known as dumb cane, is a popular indoor plant with striking green leaves speckled with white. However, this plant is highly toxic to tortoises, as well as other animals and humans. It contains calcium oxalate crystals that can cause severe irritation in the mouth and throat upon ingestion or contact, leading to swelling, breathing difficulties, and digestive issues.
